Kangaroos and wallabies commonly ‘play chicken’ with vehicles on country roads especially from dusk through to sunrise as they feed  on green grass on the roadside or move about at night. If one crosses, always expect the rest of the family to follow. Sadly roadsides are littered with the unsuccessful. Bullbars to protect vehicles are standard equipment in country Australia.
